Privacy
Short version: we measure which events people look at so we know which ones to run again, and we keep an email list you have to opt into twice. We don't sell anything about you to anyone.
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and entry links people use. It sets a cookie in your browser and records things like the page you're on, roughly where in the country you are, and whether you arrived from a search, an email, or a link someone shared.
We've turned off Google's advertising features, so this data isn't used to build an advertising profile of you or follow you around other websites. We can't see your name, your email address, or your exact location, and we never try to identify individuals.
If you'd rather not be counted, browser privacy settings and extensions that block analytics will do it, and nothing on this site will stop working.
If you sign up to hear about events, or to AKSS Weekly, we store what you typed into the form with MailerLite, who send the emails for us. You'll get a confirmation email first, and you're not on the list until you click it. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom that works immediately.
For AKSS Weekly we ask for a parent's name, email, the zone your child races in, their school, and year level. That's so the email is about your child's event and not the other twenty. We use it for that and nothing else.
This site doesn't take entries. Every entry button sends you to the system that runs that event, which for our own events is EventPlus, and for the Canterbury Adventure Race is Crazy Kea Events. Once you're there, their privacy terms apply to whatever you enter, not ours.
Race results are public, and they include competitor names, schools or clubs, and times. That's how the sport has always worked. If you need a name removed from a results file, email us and we'll sort it.
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Emailcallum@trailblazenz.comand we'll come back within two working days.
