About the series

Every week of Term 1, thousands of Auckland students grab a map and race the corridors, courtyards, and fields of a host school campus. No experience needed. Fast thinking beats fast legs, which is exactly why students love it.

The series runs across five zones, building to zone finals and the Sprint Championship.

Proudly supported by John Andrew Ford.

How to enter

Entries go through your school, not this website.

College students: your school enters via CollegeSport Auckland.

Year 7 and 8 students: your school enters through our registration form.

Sport coordinators: emailcallum@trailblazenz.com and we'll send you everything you need.

No orienteering experience at your school? Even better. Email us and we'll get you started.

Does my school need its own maps?

No. We handle all mapping and course setting with the host schools.

What does my child need?

Running shoes and a school shirt. We supply maps and timing.

Can beginners actually compete?

Grades are split by year level and experience. Half the field each year is new to the sport. First-timers can go in pairs for the first two weeks, each with their own map and timing card.
