King & Queen of the Crater is making a comeback for 2025. Join us for 4 thrilling afterwork trail races in the Port Hills. Running every Wednesday in May, we will climb 4 peaks: Mt Pleasant, Scarborough Hill, Mt Vernon and Sugarloaf. This year we will be offering a new short course for those wanting an easier option!
7th May - Mount Pleasant
14th May - Scarborough Hill
21st May - Mount Vernon
28th May - Sugarloaf
These events are being run to support New Zealand Orienteers to represent New Zealand at international (World Champs, Junior World Champs and World Cup) events held in Europe for the 2025 season.

important information
Participants must carry a headtorch. It is recommended they also carry extra batteries.
All participants enter at their own risk. While the organisers take great care to keep people safe, all participants are responsible for their own safety as well ensuring their actions do not create an unsafe situation for other runners, officials, or spectators.
Any instructions given by marshals/race officials must be adhered to.
First Aid will be available at the start/finish and people are asked to seek their advice and assistance if they are not feeling well. Any participant who requires personal medication during physical activity has sole responsibility for providing this. Any participant who comes across someone who is not well must not ignore them. If the situation is serious then this participant must seek the assistance of the course marshals or dial 111.
Any potential hazards or suspicious objects should be brought to the attention of the race officials / marshals immediately.
In the interests of safety, no dogs are permitted on the course due to the single file tracks.

Early Bird Entries close on the 1st of May. Entry closes the night before the race at 5pm. Entry on the day occurs with an additional $5 fee.
